It's not a question asked in alberti bass,
it's a warning said in descending arpeggio,
but they don't know her like I do.
"I love you," she says in the way she sometimes does.
'Love' is elevated above 'I' - all'ottava;
she dangles 'you' off the edge by a diminished octave - a fermata;
and in my heart I know this love will end.
